Most of those are on S1 and not the fixed beam. S1 has always been the
stronger of the two EB1 beams here.
Can you confirm you're getting Luxe TV HD, which is what I've been testing

Hi,

There has been discussion on Digitalspy and elsewhere about how Eurobird 1
is drifting from its assigned orbit of 28,5ºE, away from the Astra2
satellites. It's reported to be at 28,7ºE (the Astra2 birds are at 28,2ºE).

I hadn't taken much notice of this until the last couple of days - my own
reception of Eurobird transponders is fine. However, today I had two calls.
Both have 2,4m dishes, perfectly aligned with respect to 2D (i.e. 2D
verticals 24x7 despite the weather). However, both have lost the Eurobird
fixed beam completely; completely dead. The S1 beam is still OK, albeit
weaker than I'd like. I didn't try aligning the dish, as both considered 2D
of more importance than Eurobird.

Has anybody else come across it yet?
If you want to know which transponders / channels are affected, go to
http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html
Luxe TV (both SD and HD) is one of the higher profile channels on that beam,
if you want to check that.

A quote re how the valor cadastral is arrived at: "The Valor Catastral is based upon the value of the land but also on a whole range of other factors. The final figure is arrived at by multiplying together a large number of coefficients which will reflect, inter alia, whether the land is agricultural or urban, the declared escritura value of any buildings on it, etc. A recent report states that even the people responsible for making the assessments (CATASTRO) are finding the rules difficult to administer"

The valor cadastral is usually updated by the Ayuntamientos every 10yrs. In the case of Torrevieja we had a re-rating of the cadastral value in 2008 some properties were increased by up to 300% which will be applied over 10yrs. The yearly rate in the Euro was reduced as a consequence. The rate this year is 52c.
Yes please, I would like to try it. I hope I will be able to see how to
use it. I really only know the most basic things about what I am doing
- just sufficient to enable me to do what I do. (If you look at my html
coding on the web pages you will see that I am just using the same few
instructions over and over again - it's the artwork that makes it look
complicated and that, of course, has nothing to do with html.)

As Bill says, you are relying on the visitors set up. Usually, it is
set up the way that you want it, more so nowadays than in the past, but
you are 1) leaving yourself open to wasteful Customer Support time, and
2) spammers can find your email addresses.

I notice that you are on an Apache server, but I can't see if you have
PHP installed - most servers do, nowadays.

To check if you have PHP, create a file with the following lines
<?php
echo 123;
?>

(in case your mail viewer screws it up, the first line is
< ? p h p without the spaces
and the last line is
? > without the spaces.

Save the file as test.php, and load it to your server, then try running
that file. If you see the word "echo", you don't have php. You should
just see 123.

If you *do* have php, I can let you have a simple script that will
ensure that anyone can send an email regardless of their setup, spammers
can't see the email addresses, and you can change yourself it whenever
you get a changed, or an extra, email address.
